Party Ideas For A Fifty year Old
Choosing a theme is one of the most important first steps in planning any party, whether it is for a yearly holiday or a fiftieth birthday, and often, the success of this event will depend entirely on this choice.
A great theme prepares guests for a memorable night ahead, while a bad theme can put a sour taste in a guest’s mouth faster than you can shout “surprise!” If you are looking to plan a get-together in a near future, here are some of the most exciting fifty year old party ideas of the year.
A Night in Old Hollywood
Hollywood has always inspired and mesmerized people of all ages, so it is no wonder that this theme is currently one of the most popular 50 year old party ideas around. When choosing this theme, you can lay out large popcorn buckets and sodas as snacks, and project old Hollywood movies onto a back wall of the event space – something that can really set the scene for the event.
You can spice things up by adding a red carpet, elegant invitations and invite everyone to show up in their most extravagant ball gowns, making them feel as if they are attending a truly spectacular event.
A Festival of Flowers
If you are an avid gardener, why not bring one of your favourite hobbies to life by choosing flowers as a theme for your big event?
The flower is one of the most exciting 50 year old party ideas because it is so versatile – for instance, you do not simply have to stick to floral decorations because you can incorporate these delights into food and drink ideas (including cocktails, and salads with edible flowers), deserts and even costumes. If you have a favourite flower, you might want to use it as the centrepiece of the event.
Take a Gamble on a Great Night
If you enjoy playing cards, roulette or even slots, why not bring the casino to you with your very own casino night?
This is one of those fifty year old party ideas that takes a bit of work to bring to life, and you might need to consider gambling regulations within your area before choosing to hire tables, slot machines or roulette wheels;
but if you’re a betting man (or woman), you might just find that it is more than worth all of the effort.
If you don’t want guests gambling with reel money, why not hand out a certain number of chips at the beginning of the evening and have guests wager with those instead?
A Trip to the Wine Lands
You don’t actually have to leave home in order to get a taste of the best wines the world has to offer – why not host a wine tasting event in the comfort of your own home?
This sort of event allows you to show off your skills as a wine taster, while celebrating a special event with family and friends.
When planning that next event, remember that there are so many 50 year old party ideas to choose from that you should have no trouble picking a theme that your family and friends will be talking about for years to come.
When my husband turned 50 my kids, and I had a ball with planning is Birthday party. I must admit we pulled out all the stops. The gags were very funny, well to us anyway. My husband enjoyed it as well after he decided to just go with it.
Who says turning 50 can’t be fun. Also having a more adult theme is a blast as well, but you may want to have two different parties one for family which is good clean fun. The other a bit more naughty for friends it’s anyone’s game no doubt.
These are some great ideas! I saw somewhere recently, where a party like this took place in a driveway, and movies were projected onto the garage doors, it looked fabulous. I like the idea of the flower themed party, but I’d be cautious about edible flowers, since not everyone is a good judge, and we don’t want anyone getting sick. I think it would be nice to combine a few ideas, since everyone has different interests, and perhaps do the movie night, with a section for games played over the years, such as horseshoes, pitching pennies, beanbag tossing, etc.
I love planning my birthday parties with my husband and my children. The truth is, sometimes the planning is more fun than the birthday itself! I like peaceful, but fun activities such as picnics, going to the beach or playing bowling.
